Timesheet approval by job manager

We would like to suggest a change in the philosophy of approving timesheets (or at least an alternative) whereby the hours which a staff member charges to a job is sent to the job manager for approval. In that way, the person responsible for a job has control of the hours charged to that job.

The concept of "Approved by" can remain but that person would only approve the non-chargeable hours. When the approver goes into a timesheet to approve it, they will only be able to do so once the chargeable hours have been approved by the relevant job manager (each chargeable line of the timesheet will indicate whether the job manager has been approved it or not).

Maybe this way of approving timesheets can be an alternative, so that firms wanting to use the existing system can select to do so.
