I think that importing the basic deposit information is something that would be very beneficial to many of your client. It is a daily process and can take a lot of time going from screen to screen.
Maybe you don't have it because there are so many client with custom deposit imports. However if there were a basic import to start from that would reduce the amount of customization needed.

We have done this for one of our clients, but it is fairly specific to them as it associates it with a specific bank. I am not sure how generic we can make it, but a great idea.

There isn't a specific guide for the Deposits import - just a guide on how to use the Import functionality. This is under the System Administration - Administrators guide
