Need to have Attributes on Jobs like you do with Clients and Staff Details.

  1.) Marking the Job as an Amended Job - There is currently no elegant way to mark a job as it is an Amended Tax Return. 

  2.) Ability to add Delivery information to the Job.  Delivery of returns is done at the Job level and not having a place to add the attributes needed for proper delivery is needed.  We are currently using Questionnaires to accomplish this task but that is not a very elegant way to complete this requirement.  Requires the user to click a link and fill out information we can not make required. 

  3.) Other Job info as needed.  There have been other data items that have come up that if the job had attributes on them would be a better solution.

  After further discussion we are not planning on doing this. Questionnaires provide some way of doing this

  I am disappointed to hear that job attributes are not in the next upgrade.  there are many times when we are forced to come up with "creative" methods to segregate a population of jobs when the easiest thing would be to tag each job with a custom tag/attribute.  It is very frustrating to have to tag a client when that means all the jobs for the client have to be monitored instead of the specific job that was tagged.

   

  Example:  We have multiple billing models and sometimes a single client can be billed multiple ways.  It would be nice to tag the job as part of the "group" bill, while job b is billed by time.

  There are many other reasons my team has wished for job attributes/tags and questionnaires do not serve the purpose.

  Sorry all, Attributes as they are technically structured do not work well with Jobs, especially those recurring jobs where you would want the choice to roll them or clear them.  We have added several features to the Billing panel in 9.7 to accommodate the different billing models.  Amended returns have always been dealt with by modifying he Job Name.  For other characteristics, like delivery and processing methods, we are looking into ways that those can be added to the Management panel and make them drop-downs that can be controlled by Categories.  We can add fields that make sense for most users, so please keep suggestions coming!!
